KinderShares Privacy Policy

We collect information that you provide directly to us, information generated through your use of the Service, and certain information provided by third parties that help us operate KinderShares.

Account Information

When you create or use a KinderShares account, we may collect information such as:

• name;
• email address;
• account login and authentication information;
• account preferences;
• subscription status; and
• other information you provide through your account.

Child and Registry Information

Parents and guardians may provide information about a child when creating and managing a registry, including:

• child's name;
• date of birth or birthday information;
• registry information;
• selected account type or intended destination for gift funds;
• suggested investment ideas associated with a registry; and
• other information voluntarily added to the registry.

Some registry information is intended to be shared publicly with friends and family through the registry's public link.

KinderShares is intended for use by adults. Child-related information within the Service is provided by a parent or guardian, not directly by the child.

Gift Information

When someone interacts with a registry or makes or indicates a gift, we may collect information such as:

• gift amount;
• gifter name, if provided;
• email address, when provided or required for the applicable gifting flow;
• optional gift message;
• registry associated with the gift;
• suggested investment idea associated with the gift, if selected;
• payment or gift status; and
• information necessary to maintain a record of the gift.

Payment and Identity Information

Standard online payments available through KinderShares are processed by third-party payment providers, including Stripe.

Stripe may collect payment information such as card or bank information and may collect identity-verification information from parents establishing connected payment accounts, including information such as date of birth, address, tax information, or Social Security number where required.

KinderShares does not directly store full payment-card numbers, bank-account credentials, or Social Security numbers submitted to Stripe.

We may receive limited information from Stripe relating to transactions, connected accounts, payment status, subscription status, and other information necessary to operate the Service.

Venmo and Cash App Information

Parents with access to supported external gifting options may provide information used to direct gifters to an external payment service, such as a Venmo username or Cash App Cashtag.

When a gifter selects an external gifting option, KinderShares may record information about the intended gift before directing the gifter to the external provider.

This may include the intended amount, gifter information, message, selected investment idea, external provider, registry, and gift status.

KinderShares does not process or receive the actual Venmo or Cash App payment. Parents may confirm through KinderShares whether an external gift was received.

Information submitted directly to Venmo, Cash App, or another external provider is governed by that provider's privacy practices.

Communications

When you communicate with us or interact with our emails, we may collect:

• the contents of communications you send us;
• contact information;
• customer-support information; and
• information about delivery or interaction with transactional communications where available.

Usage, Device and Technical Information

When you use KinderShares, we and our service providers may automatically collect certain information, including:

• IP address;
• browser type;
• device information;
• operating system;
• pages viewed;
• referring pages or sources;
• approximate location derived from IP address;
• dates and times of visits;
• interactions with pages and features;
• registry and signup activity; and
• other technical or usage information.

KinderShares and our service providers may use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies to operate the Service, understand how people use KinderShares, measure performance, improve our marketing, and evaluate the effectiveness of campaigns.

These technologies may include services such as Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel.

Depending on the technology and your interaction with the Service, information collected may include device identifiers, browser information, IP address, pages visited, referring sources, and actions taken on KinderShares.

Third-party analytics and advertising providers may process information according to their own privacy policies.

Browser settings and certain device or provider controls may allow you to limit cookies or tracking technologies. Disabling certain technologies may affect some Service functionality.

We may use information collected through KinderShares to:

• enable and record gift activity;
• support online and external gifting options;
• facilitate payment and connected-account functionality through third-party providers;
• manage Family Plan subscriptions and account entitlements;
• send transactional communications, gift notifications, reminders, account messages, and service updates;
• provide customer support;
• personalize and improve the Service;
• understand how users interact with KinderShares;
• measure marketing and campaign performance;
• detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, security incidents, and other harmful activity;
• enforce our Terms of Service;
• comply with applicable legal obligations; and
• protect KinderShares, our users, and others.

We may also use information in aggregated or de-identified form where it can no longer reasonably identify an individual.

KinderShares does not sell your personal information for money.

We may disclose information in the following circumstances.

Service Providers

We use third-party providers to operate KinderShares. Depending on their function, these providers may process information on our behalf or independently under their own terms and privacy policies.

These services may include providers for:

• payment processing and connected accounts, such as Stripe;
• database, authentication, and backend infrastructure;

• advertising measurement;

External Payment Services

When you choose to interact with an external payment provider such as Venmo or Cash App, you may be directed away from KinderShares to that provider.

Information you provide directly to the external service is governed by that service's privacy practices.

• enforce our agreements or policies;

Business Transactions

KinderShares registries are designed to be shared with friends and family.

Information displayed on a public registry may be accessible to anyone who has access to the registry link and, depending on the Service's configuration, may be accessible more broadly.

Parents and guardians should avoid including information in a registry that they do not want others to see.

Gift-related information displayed on a registry may include information provided by gifters, such as names or messages, depending on the features and settings available through the Service.

KinderShares is designed for use by parents, guardians, and other adults and is not intended for use directly by children.

We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children through child-created accounts.

Parents or guardians may provide child-related information to create and manage a registry, including a child's name and birthday information. This information is collected from and controlled through the parent or guardian's account.

If you believe that a child has provided personal information directly to KinderShares without appropriate authorization, contact us at support@kindershares.com.

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain accounts and registries, complete legitimate business purposes, comply with legal and financial obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, maintain security, and enforce our agreements.

Different categories of information may be retained for different periods depending on their purpose and applicable requirements.

Some information relating to payments, subscriptions, gifts, security events, or legal obligations may need to be retained after an account is closed or information is otherwise removed from active use.

When information is no longer reasonably necessary, we may delete, anonymize, or otherwise dispose of it in accordance with applicable requirements.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.

KinderShares also relies on third-party infrastructure and service providers to protect information processed through their systems.

No method of transmission or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their account credentials and should notify us if they believe their account has been compromised.

Depending on where you live and applicable law, you may have rights or choices concerning your personal information.

You may contact us to request that we:

• provide information about personal information associated with you;
• correct inaccurate account information;
• delete certain personal information;

Where required by applicable law, KinderShares will provide additional choices or obtain consent before using certain non-essential technologies.

KinderShares may contain links to or integrations with third-party websites, financial institutions, payment providers, or other services.

KinderShares does not control the privacy practices of those third parties. Information you provide directly to a third party is governed by that third party's privacy policy.

We encourage users to review the privacy policies of third-party services they choose to use.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to KinderShares, our practices, technologies, or applicable requirements.
